Made it back from the Ions in Aqueous Solvation and Molecular Biology workshop in Telluride, Colorado. A special thanks to Susan Rempe, Tom Beck, and Lawrence Pratt for the invitation to come and present.
This was my first visit to a Telluride Science Research Center (TSRC) meeting, and it was a lot of fun. Each workshop session is built around a core group of 25-30 researchers in a given field, and you attend all the talks in your session over a weeklong period. This is nice in that it is a focused group of experts (and people like me) that give critical feedback on new ideas and efforts. The meeting format seems similar but is maybe a little less restrictive than what I imagine a Gordon Research Conference to be – I should probably attend on of those sometime.
Being a new face in the crowd, I particularly enjoyed meeting and seeing the research presentations from Mikael Lund, Liem Dang, and many others that I was able to chat with. It was a good meeting overall, and given the chance, I will definitely consider attending another one of these in the future!
